<p>&#8220;It’s been very steady, which is encouraging,&#8221; Dorothy Wooden, an election inspector at the Foothills Center for the Performing Arts, said at about 12:30 p.m.</p>
<p>Margery Merzig, an election inspector, said 560 of the 3,443 registered voters in the First, Second, Fifth, Sixth and Eighth wards in the city had been to the center by the noon hour.</p>
<p>Wooden, who was directing voters to their polling booths, said more voters were expected as schools and businesses closed later in the day.</p>
<p>&#8220;Hopefully, we&#8217;ll have a good turnout,&#8221; Wooden said.</p>
