Former mayoral candidate arrested

A former candidate for Oneonta mayor has been arrested on harassment and forcible touching charges by city police.

Jason Corrigan, 21, of Oneonta, was charged Wednesday with harassment, aggravated harassment and forcible touching, Oneonta police reported in the blotter, and bail was set at $500.

Corrigan, as a student at the State University College at Oneonta, ran against Richard Miller, former president of Hartwick College, and Erik Miller, Third Ward alderman in the city’s mayoral election.

Richard Miller, an independent running on the Democratic line, took 50.2 percent of the vote while Erik Miller, a 35-year-old Republican, won 41.6 percent. Corrigan took 8.2 percent on his independent party line.
