Bassett-Fox affiliation is official

The boards of Bassett Healthcare and A.O. Fox Hospital announced Monday that they have signed the paperwork necessary to finalize an affiliation between the two institutions. The decision approving Fox as a Bassett affiliate is effective Jan. 1.

According to a media release from Bassett, the Cooperstown-based health care organization will provide management and medical services to A.O. Fox Hospital in Oneonta.

Affiliation was approved in October pending approval of regulators and completion of management and medical services agreements, which officials said has now been completed.

Bassett also announced that its Bassett Heart Care Institute will open offices in the FoxCare Center in early 2010.
