Thunderstorm warning for northern Otsego

4:10 p.m. update: The alert has been canceled. The weather service said the storm has weakened.
The National Weather Service alert lasts until 4:30 p.m.
Radar has indicated a storm capable of winds more than 60 mph and nickel-sized hail. At 3:47 p.m., it was near Brookfield, moving east at 30 mph.
The NWS said the storm will be near Richfield Springs by 3:50 p.m.; 6 miles north of Cooperstown by 4 p.m.; Springfield by 4:05 p.m.; and Cherry Valley by 4:15 p.m.

The entire four-county area remains under a “severe thunderstorm watch,” a lesser alert, until 8 p.m.
