Thunderstorm warning for Delaware, Otsego

A line of strong thunderstorms is approaching central Delaware County and parts of Otsego and Chenango counties, the National Weather Service warned shortly before 4:30 p.m. today.
The storms are moving east at 15 mph. Expected arrival at local locations is as follows:
■ Walton at 4:45
■ Oneonta at 4:50
■ Hartwick at 5:05
■ Meredith at 5:15
■ Maryland and Delhi at 5:25 pm
■ Davenport and Cooperstown at 5:30 pm

These storms have the potential to produce very heavy rain, the NWS said, as well as small hail and frequent lightning. Heavy rains could cause localized flooding of roads and poor drainage areas.
