Corfu Diner could re-open any time

July 24, 2009 | Uncategorized

The Corfu Diner at 139 Main Street in Oneonta could re-open at any time, an official with the state Department of Taxation and Finance said Friday afternoon.

The restaurant was closed after the property was seized Thursday because of four outstanding warrants for withholding, and sales tax totaling about $21,400, said taxation department spokesman Tom Bergin.

A payment was received by the department through a business representative, Bergin said. He said he could not go into details because of privacy restrictions.

The warrants are still open and will remain in place until the issue is resolved, he said.

The restaurant was still closed today at about 2:30 p.m.
